Vol. 497 No. 4

Written Answers - Hospital Services.

Willie Penrose

Question:

120 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps, if any, he will take to ensure that a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath is admitted to Tullamore general hospital to have an operative procedure carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25296/98]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Westmeath is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Midland Health Board to investigate this case as a matter of urgency and to reply directly to the Deputy concerned.
