183 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position in regard to the provision of sewerage facilities at Ballybrittas, Portlaoise, County Laois; and when work will commence on the provision of this facility. [10699/99]
A preliminary report for this scheme was approved in 1981. In a report submitted to the Department on 11 September 1998 on its overall water and sewerage services programme the local authority indicated that it was proposed to advance the scheme through its small schemes programme. A block grant of £291,000 has been allocated to Laois County Council in respect of small schemes in the current year. It is a matter for the local authority to decide on what schemes to advance.
