123 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Education and Science the decision made to provide a psychological service for children who attend St. Killian's junior and senior schools in Kingswood Heights, Dublin 24; if the schools are prevented from referring additional children to the psychological service in this area as a result of cut backs; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have allocated additional resources to improve and expand the psychological services provided by my Department to schools.
The national educational psychological service agency will shortly be formally established. It is planned that a comprehensive schools psychological service will be phased in over five years. During this interim period and, indeed, during the years that follow, the national educational psychological service will work closely with the health-funded services in order to ensure that the available resources are applied as effectively as possible.
