Vol. 503 No. 7

Written Answers. - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

88 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a request from Earthwatch for the new specifications under the revised REP scheme was deemed not relevant to the organisation in view of the importance of the REP scheme for Ireland's environment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11113/99]

Officials in my Department administering the rural environment protection scheme have no record of a request from Earthwatch for a copy of the revised specifications under the scheme. A copy has now issued to Earthwatch and to the Deputy for his information.
