Vol. 504 No. 2

Written Answers. - Medical Services.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

201 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of patients living within the south east region requiring dialysis treatment; the number receiving dialysis outside the region; the centres in which they are obtaining the dialysis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11346/99]

The provision of medical services to eligible persons in this instance is the responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this matter and to reply to the Deputy directly.
