Vol. 505 No. 5

Written Answers. - Gaming Machines.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

126 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the plans, if any, he has to update the Gaming and Lotteries Act, 1956, in particular to deal with illegal gaming machines in public houses; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14135/99]

In line with a commitment in my Department's strategy statement for the years 1998-2000, I have recently approved proposals for a review of the 1956 Gaming and Lotteries Act. The issue of illegal gaming machines in licensed premises will be included in the review, full details of which will be published in the near future.
