Vol. 505 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ivan Yates

Question:

48 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if suckler cow premium payments will be approved on a 1998 application for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; if so, when payment will be approved; and the rate in this regard. [14615/99]

The application in this case attracts penalties totalling 36.75 per cent. A penalty of 18 per cent is being applied on the basis of late submission of the application and a further penalty of 18.75 per cent is being imposed related to two ineligible animals and one absent animal discovered at the inspection stage. The payment involved will be made as soon as possible.

Alan M. Dukes

Question:

49 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a decision will be made on an appeal against a decision of his Department to refuse payment of a ewe premium to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare. [14635/99]

Payment of the premium to the persons named was initially refused on the grounds that their flocks were being maintained as one unit with their parents' flock. The persons named have sought a review of this decision and this review will be completed within the next week.
