Question:

896 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will review the decision of his Department to reduce by 50 per cent the speech therapy services to be provided at St. Brigid's school, Harbour Street, Mullingar, County Westmeath; the way in which this can be justified in view of the fact there has been no significant change in the student enrolment at this school; the steps, if any, he will take to have this decision reversed; and if he will extend the speech therapy services. Question:

897 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will appoint a counsellor, psychiatrist and psychotherapist at St. Brigid's school, Harbour Street, Mullingar, to enable the students achieve their potential in view of the schools enrolment. [18018/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 896 and 897 together.

The issues raised by the Deputy relate to services which are the responsibility of the relevant health authority.

I am arranging to bring the matters raised by the Deputy to the attention of my colleague, the Minister for Health and Children.
