Vol. 508 No. 4

Written Answers. - Mountain Commonage.

P. J. Sheehan

Question:

157 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when his Department will approve the division of a mountain commonage at Crooha, Adrigole, Beara, County Cork. [19116/99]

In 1998 my Department took the decision to withdraw from commonage division and rearrangement of holdings but to complete, where possible, cases already on hands. As an application for assistance with division of the commonage in question had already been received before the decision to withdraw was taken my Department is prepared to provide the assistance requested in this case. However, given the number of other such cases on hands and the limited level of resources available for this work it is not possible to say when division of this commonage will be completed.
