116 Mr. Haughey asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the number of work permits issued to asylum seekers since the Government's decision of July 1999; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [21398/99]

A total of 15 work permits have been issued by my Department in respect of asylum seekers since the Government's decision of 26 July 1999.
