Vol. 512 No. 6

Written Answers. - Victim Support Service.

Donal Carey

Question:

353 Mr. D. Carey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the name and address of the victim support network adviser to whom Clare victims can apply for assistance or aid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26842/99]

My Department provides funding to Victim Support in assisting crime victims and is not involved in the detailed delivery of those services.

The Clare branch of Victim Support is based in Ennis and I understand that inquiries or requests for assistance from persons in County Clare should be addressed to the branch, telephone number 065-840704.

The national helpline, which is manned on a 24 hour basis, is also available at freefone 1800 661 771.
For operational reasons, it is the policy of Victim Support not to publish the names and addresses of the volunteers who operate the various services.
