Vol. 513 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dublin Traffic Management.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

582 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the funding available in the Dublin Transportation Office to enable local authorities to improve pedestrian facilities, cycle paths and roads leading to train stations in the north Kildare area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1982/00]

The Dublin Transportation Office allocates grants to local authorities in the DTI area for the provision of various traffic management measures including quality bus corridors, cycle facilities, park and ride facilities, traffic calming measures and facilities for the mobility impaired. My Department is providing £24 million to the DTO this year for these grants.

I have no role in relation to the allocation of DTO grants to local authorities, which is a matter wholly devolved to the DTO.
