Vol. 513 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Willie Penrose

Question:

205 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be admitted for surgical treatment to Tullamore General Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2459/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Westmeath is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.

Jack Wall

Question:

206 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will receive an appointment date at the eye and ear hospital for a cornea operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2460/00]

The provision of an appointment date in this case, in the first instance, is a matter for the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital. I have therefore asked the secretary-manager of the hospital to investigate this matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
