183 Mr. L. Burke asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, he has to introduce a voluntary retirement scheme for public servants in similar terms to the scheme introduced in 1988; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2480/00]

I do not have plans to introduce a general voluntary early retirement scheme for public servants similar to the voluntary early retirement-severance scheme which was introduced in the public service in 1987.
