Question:

62 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the guidelines and directions issued to the National Roads Authority under section 41 of the Roads Act, 1993; if he will supply copies of these; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2941/00]

Under section 41 of the Roads Act, 1993 the Minister for the Environment and Local Government may issue mandatory directives and advisory guidelines to the national roads authority. Any direction given by the Minister to the Authority under the section must be laid before both Houses of the Oireachtas. To date, no such directives or guidelines have been issued.
