Vol. 514 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Stadium.

Austin Currie

Question:

168 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Finance the effect, if any, the new national stadium will have on the operations of his Department at Abbotstown, County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3662/00]

I refer the Deputy to the contents of the press release which I issued today.

The Government has decided that the State laboratory, which is under the aegis of my Department, should be relocated from Abbotstown to Backweston Farm which is located between Lucan and Celbridge, County Kildare.

As indicated in the press release, planning for the relocation and replacement of the facilities which are currently based in Abbotstown will immediately commence. There will be full consultation with staff interests in relation to all aspects of the proposed relocation.
