Vol. 515 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Louis J. Belton

Question:

124 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when his Department intends to appoint sufficient staff to the farm development office in Longford in view of the fact that farmers are awaiting REP scheme inspections for almost a year in some cases; and the action, if any, he will take in this regard. [5798/00]

The question of staffing in the Longford office where there is unfortunately a backlog of some months in dealing with REPS inspections is being reviewed.

My Department keeps procedures and the deployment of staff at all its offices under ongoing review with the aim of insuring the best possible service to its clients.
