Vol. 515 No. 3

Written Answers. - Control of Farm Pollution Scheme.

Michael Creed

Question:

125 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the level of grant aid, if any, available for pollution control measures and the construction of slatted units. [5825/00]

The national scheme for the control of farm pollution provides for grant aid at the rate of 40% in the less favoured areas and 35% in other areas subject to a grant ceiling of £10,000 for the construction of waste storage facilities, silage storage facilities, cattle and sheep animal housing and associated farmyard facilities.

The maximum grant of £10,000 will be reduced by any grant aid taken up in respect of the farm since 1994 with regard to pollution control investments under the control of farm pollution scheme, the dairy hygiene scheme and the farm improvement programme in the operational programme for agriculture, rural development and forestry.
