Vol. 519 No. 2

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Liam Aylward

Question:

313 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress on the outstanding works to be completed at a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [13303/00]

A number of applications for improved facilities at the school referred to by the Deputy are being processed by my Department at present. I am pleased to say that approval was recently given to County Kilkenny VEC to proceed with the urgent works required to the heating system. Approval has also been given to the VEC for the appointment of a design team to commence architectural planning on the refurbishment works required at the school. An application has recently been received for the provision of a physical education hall at the school. It is proposed to build this hall in accordance with plans which are being designed within my Department at present. It is anticipated that these plans will be available shortly.
