Vol. 520 No. 1

Written Answers. - Garda Deployment.

Michael Finucane

Question:

347 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a garda replacement will be provided following the retirement of a garda at a location (details supplied) in County Limerick. [15137/00]

I am informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the detailed allocation of personnel to an individual area, that the current personnel strength of the station referred to in the question, as of 30 April 2000, is one garda.

I am also informed that the allocation of personnel is reviewed on an ongoing basis and, when additional resources next become available, the needs of the station in question will be fully considered in the overall context of the needs of other Garda districts and divisions throughout the country.
