Vol. 521 No. 3

Written Answers. - Urban Renewal Schemes.

Dan Neville

Question:

125 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the current position on the urban renewal tax designation scheme for towns in County Limerick; if he has accepted the recommendations submitted by Limerick County Council without alteration; when he will implement the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16984/00]

An expert advisory panel is currently examining 102 town renewal plans, including five from Limerick County Council, submitted by the various county councils under the town renewal scheme. On foot of the recommendation which will be made to me by the panel and, subject to the agreement of the Minister for Finance, I expect to be in a position to announce details of the areas to which financial incentives are to be applied in July.
