Vol. 522 No. 4

Written Answers. - GAA Licence.

Sean Fleming

Question:

117 Mr. Fleming asked the Minister for Finance further to Parliamentary Question No. 86 of 7 June 2000, the date on which the GAA applied to the Office of Public Works to licence a further area for their use; the person on behalf of the GAA who made the application; and if parties are permitted to erect fences and enclose areas under licence at the Heath, County Laois. [19011/00]

The licence referred to by the Deputy was initiated by the Office of Public Works to regularise a long outstanding encroachment by the Heath GAA club. Parties are not permitted to erect fences and enclose areas under licence as the licence is subject to all existing rights of common and to any rights of grazing or exercising animals that may exist over the said lands.
