Vol. 524 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

220 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the current position in relation to a headage grant application for cattle of a person (details supplied) in County Donegal. [22267/00]

The person named will be paid his entitlement under the 2000 cattle headage scheme within the next seven days. Payment in this case was delayed because the person named applied on animal tag number 161094870061 under the 2000 cattle headage scheme even though he had already registered the death of this animal on my Department's animal death registration database. Following an investigation of the matter my Department is now satisfied that the person named registered the death of the wrong animal. The animal tag number which should have been registered was 161094860060 and the animal applied on, tag number 161094870061, is in fact still in the herd of the person named.

Michael Ring

Question:

221 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive cattle and sheep headage for 2000 in view of the fact that his land claimed has not changed since his 1999 area aid application. [22268/00]

The 2000 area aid application of the person named has been fully processed with no outstanding errors, and the area for payment purposes has been determined at 353.74 hectares. Any payments due will issue as soon as possible.

The person named is in the second year of a five year contract which commenced in August 1999. His first year payment has been made and his second year payment will issue within the next ten days.
