91 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason an area aid grant for 1999 has still not been paid in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and when payment will be made. [22753/00]
The 1999 application form for the above named was received after the closing date and therefore a 100% penalty must be applied in accordance with the EU regulations. Eligibility for extensification premium is dependant on recognition of a valid area aid application. As matters stand at present the person named is not entitled to extensification premium.
However, he has undertaken to submit proof of postage for his 1999 area aid application. When this is received the matter will be reconsidered.
