Vol. 525 No. 2

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Service.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

509 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will ensure that a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12, aged 16, will be given immediate orthodontic treatment in view of the fact that she has been waiting to be called since 1 April, 1998 and has now been told that she will be waiting another two years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24373/00]

As the provision of orthodontic treatment to eligible persons in Dublin 12 is the statutory responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority, I have asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy as soon as possible.
