708 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the status of the deployment of an ice detection monitoring system; the current availability of this data; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24775/00]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey):

An ice detection monitoring system to predict ice formations on national roads has been developed by the National Roads Authority and is operated by NRA and road authorities. Detailed information regarding the operation of this system may appropriately be sought from NRA.
