Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - National Monuments.

Beverley Flynn

Question:

330 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the objections raised by an archaeologist in the employment of Dúchas to the floodlighting of a historical monument (details supplied) in County Mayo. [25435/00]

Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands (Miss de Valera)

My Department has received a request from the Turlough Development Association to floodlight the round tower at Turlough. A final decision has yet to be made on this request. However I can confirm that as part of the decision making process my officials hope to meet with members of the development committee on site during the week beginning 20 November.
