Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Garda Strength.

Denis Naughten

Question:

1009 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the total Garda complement in each rural Garda station in County Roscommon in the year 1990; the current complement of staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1263/01]

I am informed by the Garda authorities who are responsible for the detailed allocation of personnel to individual areas that the total manpower strength, all ranks, of the division of Roscommon-Galway east as at December 1990 and 2000 was 244 and 253, respectively.

I am further informed that the total manpower strength, all ranks, for each district in the division of Roscommon-Galway east as at December 1990 and 2000 was:

For operational reasons, the Garda Commissioner does not propose to release details of individual Garda stations' strengths in the districts concerned.
