Vol. 529 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Funding.

Nora Owen

Question:

127 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will look favourably on an application by a community group (details supplied) for a grant under the access capital funding programme; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2812/01]

An application has been made for funding in respect of the community group referred to by the Deputy under the ACCESS – arts and culture capital enhancement support scheme. The Deputy will be aware that I have secured a total of £36 million of exchequer funding for ACCESS for the period 2001-2004.

The initial assessment of all applications is currently being undertaken to determine whether each application meets the broad criteria for eligibility. A full appraisal of all eligible applications will then be undertaken.
