Vol. 530 No. 3

Written Answers. - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.

Michael Ring

Question:

112 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if the REP scheme appeal committee can meet more than once a month to clear the backlog of appeals on hand. [3655/01]

My Department's REPS appeals committee meets as frequently as possible, having regard to the other official commitments of its members. It normally meets at least once a month, but there will be at least two meetings in February and will continue to schedule meetings as frequently as possible to deal with the number of appeals being lodged.
