Vol. 533 No. 2

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

153 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to a school extension (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8525/01]

An application has been received for an extension at the school to which the Deputy refers. In advance of commencing a capital development programme at the school and consistent with standard practices, it has been necessary to determine the school's long-term projected enrolment. This process is complete and the school's long-term projected enrolment has been determined to be 650 students.

The next step in the process is the analysis of the school's curricular strategy. In this context, the school's management authority has been requested to complete an educational worksheet. When the completed document is returned to my Department, the task of determining the school's accommodation needs will begin.
