Vol. 533 No. 6

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Willie Penrose

Question:

353 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the Land Commission has duly registered as full and absolute the owner of property identified in correspondence submitted to the commission by a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; if his title is no longer delimited to him being a Land Commission nominee; if such clarification as to the absolute nature of his title has been recorded in the Land Registry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9689/01]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application refers to an application for conversion of title which was lodged on 6 January 2000. Dealing No. D2000XS000754G refers. I am further informed by the Land Registry that the person mentioned by the Deputy was registered as full owner of properties Nos. 1 and 2 on 26 April 1972 and Nos. 3, 4 and 5 on 26 August 1988. This application is for conversion of possessory title in respect of properties Nos. 3, 4 and 5 to absolute title.

I am also informed by the Land Registry that a reply to the query of 4 February 2000 to the lodging solicitors was received on 28 September 2000. However, this reply did not deal with all original queries and a further query issued to the lodging solicitors on 4 October 2000. The application cannot proceed until these queries have been satisfactorily resolved. However, on receipt of a satisfactory reply, the matter will dealt with as soon as possible.
