Vol. 533 No. 6

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

442 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the frustrations of parents and staff of St. Felim's national school, Farnhan Street, Cavan who are awaiting the commencement of refurbishment of the school building for several years; if he will give a commitment to commence works forthwith in the interest of parents, pupils and teachers. [9638/01]

My Department has received an application for refurbishment work from the authorities of St. Felim's national school.

In view of the large number of schools building projects being dealt with by my Department at present and the priority to be afforded to such projects, it is not possible at this point to provide a time scale as to when the application from the management authorities of St. Felim's national school will be processed.

The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.
