396 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of houses which were started and built by local authorities in County Mayo since June 1997 giving details on a year by year basis in each region and if he will recheck and verify the figures for Ballina UDC and Westport UDC having regard to his earlier reply to Question 210 of 10 April, 2001. Figures in relation to the number of local authority houses started and completed in County Mayo in the years 1997 to 1999, including acquisitions, are set out in reply to Question No. 210 of 10 April 2001. Figures in relation to 2000 are included in the Annual Bulletin of Housing Statistics for 2000 which was published recently, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.
The figures for the four local authorities in County Mayo provided in the reply to Question No. 210 of 10 April 2001 included both houses constructed and houses acquired by each of these authorities whereas the figures in the reply to Questions Nos. 510, 511, 519 and 520 of 26 January 2000 related only to houses constructed by these authorities.
