185 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be assessed by an orthopaedic surgeon in Merlin Park, County Galway; and if he will investigate this matter. [14636/01]

The provision of medical services in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked its chief executive officer to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
