Question:

353 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 314 and 315 of 27 March 2001, he will clarify the position on the refurbishment and repair programmes at Scoil Áine Naofa and St. Thomas's national schools, Esker, Lucan, County Dublin; if, in particular, a contract has been awarded for the roof repairs at both schools; if this work will be completed in time for the commencement of the next academic year; if the outstanding survey of the drainage system at Scoil Áine Naofa has been carried out for incorporation in the contract together with the results of the completed survey of St. Thomas's school; and if he is in a position to confirm than these works will also be finished by September 2001. Contract documents for roof works at Scoil Áine Naofa and St. Thomas' schools, Esker, Lucan will shortly be signed.

The contract is for a period of 16 months and will incorporate remedial works to the drainage system of St Thomas' national school and a survey of the drainage system at Scoil Áine Naofa.
