Vol. 536 No. 5

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

132 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the allocations which have been made to smaller harbours and landing places in County Waterford under the national development plan programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14946/01]

To date my Department has approved the allocation of financial assistance of £84,159.38 to Waterford County Council in 2000 for pier improvement works at Ardmore at a total cost of £112,212.64. Funding of £29,893.41 was also provided in the same year under the plan for repairs to the sea wall at Lady Elizabeth's Cove, Tramore with a total cost of £39,857.88.

The provision of funding for works at other locations in the county will be considered in the context of the fishery harbour development programme having regard to the overall development needs of fishery harbours generally and the funding available.
