Question:

145 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the grant aid available from his Department for the building of an all weather gallop and of a lunging ring. [15526/01]

A scheme of investment aid in alternative enterprises, housing handling facilities, was introduced on 1 February 2001 under the national development plan. Eligible investment items under the scheme include all weather gallops and lunging/exercise areas. Grant aid at the rate of 40% of approved costs is payable to applicants with not more than 150 income units and at the rate of 20% to applicants with over 150 income units and not more than 200 income units, subject to an investment ceiling of £25,000.
