Vol. 539 No. 1

Written Answers. - Accident and Emergency Services.

Billy Timmins

Question:

235 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Health and Children the feasibility of requesting casualty patients to attend Tallaght hospital for the period of the unofficial protest at Naas hospital; if this will help the situation at Naas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18626/01]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services for residents of Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. I have had inquiries made of the authority. It informed me that the unofficial protest by nursing staff at Naas General Hospital had no impact on staffing rosters. I am further informed that patients can be assured that services will not be affected at this time and that they should attend the accident and emergency department as normal.

Question No. 236 answered with Question No. 218.
