O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if the Government has signed the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants; when this occurred; the measures necessary for ratification; and when he expects this to take place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 174 of 23 May 2001 and 767 and 806 of 30 January 2001. A representative of the Irish Government signed the UNEP Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants in Stockholm on 23 May 2001.
