Question:

498 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation regarding a proposed new school (details supplied) in County Cork; when these works were originally sanctioned; the progress that has been made to date; and when this school will be completed. [23701/01]

In 1998 architectural planning of the new school to which the Deputy refers com menced. The building unit of my Department has recently approved stage 5 of architectural planning, the bill of quantities. Decisions relating to the rate of progress to construction of these projects, including the school referred to by the Deputy, will be taken in the light of the allocations to be made for school building purposes in the forthcoming Estimates.
