187 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if and when residency status will be awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24786/01]

Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. O'Donoghue):

There is no record of any application for residency status from the person to whom the Deputy referred. However, a decision in relation to the person's asylum application will issue to the applicant in the next few days.
