Vol. 542 No. 5

Written Answers. - Science Subjects.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

466 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the difficulties being experienced by a school (details supplied) in Dublin 11 in trying to provide science subjects; and if he will arrange for an inspector in his Department to make contact with the school to assist the school access financial and other supports. [25152/01]

My Department has been made aware of the difficulties experienced by this school in providing the full range of science subjects at senior cycle level. I am glad to be able to inform the Deputy that an inspector from my Department will make contact with the school shortly. He will advise the management of the school on how best to access the financial and other supports available to such schools for the teaching of science.
