Vol. 542 No. 5

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

467 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education and Science if an application by St. Garvan's National School, Caroreigh, County Wexford, for an extension has been received; the status of the application; when sanction to build is likely to issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25153/01]

My Department has received an application for grant-aid towards the cost of a building project at St. Garvan's National School, Caroreigh, County Wexford. The Deputy will appreciate that there has been a massive and unprecedented increase in the funds allocated by this Government to the schools building programme at all levels. Decisions relating to the rate of progress to construction of projects, including St. Garvan's National School, will be taken in the light of the allocations to be made for school building purposes in the forthcoming Estimates.
