Question:

152 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan will receive a headage payment and other livestock related payments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28139/01]

The person named added a new plot of land to the 2001 area aid application. This plot is now being entered on the Department's electronic database. The person named will be paid her full entitlements under the 2001 area based compensatory allowance and special beef premium schemes within the next two weeks.

The person named applied on 20 animals under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme. At an inspection carried out on 8 October 2001 a number of animals applied on were not presented and it was also found that the official bovine herd register was not kept up to date. The matter is being investigated at present and a formal decision on the application will issue shortly.

153 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason for the long delay in making a suckler cow payment to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [28140/01]

The person named applied for 13 cows and one heifer under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme. In processing the application for payment problems arose with animals, tag number TEA775538, which was retagged, sold and replaced and animal tag number PRA017719, which required further clarification regarding breed. These matters have now been resolved and payment will issue shortly.
