Vol. 544 No. 3

Written Answers. - Academy for Entrepreneurship.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

490 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the proposal for the establishment of an academy for entrepreneurship at City West, Saggart, County Dublin; if his Department supports the proposal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28878/01]

I am aware of the proposal for the establishment of an academy for entrepreneurship at City West, Saggart, County Dublin, which has been the subject of some preliminary discussion between officials of my Department and the Departments of Finance and Enterprise, Trade and Employment. The question of support for the proposed academy will be contingent on establishing a clear rationale and unique function for the academy. Having regard to the developmental phase of the proposal, it is too early to assess the merit of the educational aspects of the academy.
