Vol. 545 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospitals Building Programme.

Dick Spring

Question:

221 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Health and Children the progress in the building of the community based hospital for Tralee, County Kerry; and if funding for same is included in the 2002 Book of Estimates. [29905/01]

Responsibility for the provision of health services in County Kerry rests with the Southern Health Board. The Southern Health Board has advised that it has provided for a community nursing unit in Tralee as one of the projects it wishes to develop under the National Development Plan 2001-2006. A project team has been appointed by the board to which I have given approval. The project team is in the process of completing an accommodation brief for this development.
