Vol. 545 No. 3

Written Answers. - Rail Services.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

68 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the position regarding the schedule for the reopening of the Lucan North and Lucan South rail stations for commuter services. [30286/01]

Under the Dublin Transportation Office's Platform for Change, the development of the Kildare line, which would include appropriate station development in the vicinity of Lucan, would take place in the period up to 2006. I am advised by Iarnród Éireann that they will complete the planning and design for the Kildare line project shortly and at this early stage Iarnród Éireann are not in a position to indicate a precise date for station development.
