Vol. 545 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Austin Deasy

Question:

207 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Finance the number of people who are employed in the Land Registry office; the number of these who are based in Waterford; the location of the remainder; if it is his intention to have the entire personnel of the office based in Waterford and Dungarvan in the near future; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30667/01]

According to the most recent figures available to me there were 594 staff serving in the Land Registry of whom 188 were in Waterford and the remaining 406 were serving in Dublin. There are no immediate plans to transfer any further staff of the Land Registry to either Waterford or Dungarvan. The issue of the further relocation of staff is one which may be considered in the context of the ongoing deliberations in relation to a new programme of decentralisation.
