298 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science the status of an application for funding by Creggs national school, County Galway; if he will approve funding for this project in view of the recent announcement in the budget of additional capital funding for such projects; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application has been received for capital funding in respect of a proposed project at Creggs national school. Decisions on the appointment of design teams in respect of pro jects will be taken in the light of the recent allocation for primary school buildings in last week's budget. My Department will be in contact with the school authorities as soon as possible.

299 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has made a decision on the redevelopment of Ballyleague national school, County Roscommon; if he intends to construct a new school in Ballyleague; the reason for the delay in processing this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application has been received for capital funding in respect of a proposed project at Ballyleague national school. Decisions on the appointment of design teams in respect of projects will be taken in the light of the recent allocation for primary school buildings in last week's budget. My Department will be in contact with the school authorities as soon as possible.

300 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science the status of an application for the construction of Elphin Community School, County Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32374/01]

My Department recently received stages 1 to 3, inclusive, that is site suitability, briefing and site report, outline and developed sketch schemes, for the proposed extension to Elphin Community College. Staff in the building unit of my Department are currently examining this submission and a response will issue to County Roscommon VEC shortly.

Decisions on the appointment of design teams in respect of projects will be taken in the light of the recent allocation for post-primary school buildings in last week's budget. My Department will be in contact with the school authorities as soon as possible.

Architectural planning in respect of a building project at Grange national school is under way. It is not possible at this stage to state exactly when the project will go on site.

307 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress made in assessing the feasibility study furnished by St. Colmcille's primary school, Knocklyon; if he will sanction the construction to commence in 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32384/01]

A feasibility study on the accommodation requirements of St. Colmcille's primary school, Knocklyon, has recently been received and is being examined by my Department's building unit. Decisions on the appointment of design teams in respect of individual projects will be taken in light of the recent allocation for primary school buildings in last week's budget and my Department will be in contact with the school authorities as soon as possible.
